option 1 : in the same way that mcbride has selected particular moments in his life and specific thematic threads to illustrate, choose one of your personal stories and create a narrative about it. your piece should be at least 1 1/2 pages, double spaced, and no longer than 3 pages. your chapter should have a title and you are invited to try to emulate mcbrides practice of using metaphor, simile and sensory detail to bring your piece alive for your reader.
